Growing up, landscapes like this were simply part of everyday life.

The drive between home and town was lined with paddocks, windmills, rolling hills and endless skies. At the time, it was just the scenery outside the car window. Looking back, I realise how much those familiar views shaped me.

Funny how the places we see every day become the places we miss most.

This painting is inspired by the Darling Downs region of Queensland and the countryside I called home.
